Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten Registration for the 2024-2025 school year will open on March 25, 2024. The Kindergarten registration is for children who are 5-years- old on or before September 1, 2024. 

All incoming Kindergarten students will need to complete the two step enrollment process.

Step 1- Call the Enrollment Center at 256-580-4346 to schedule an appointment. The Enrollment Center is located at 212 4th Ave SE, Decatur, AL 35601.

What do you need on the day of your appointment?

Completed Kindergarten Registration Cover form, Home Language Survey and documents listed below.

Documents

  • Proof of name and age (a Birth Certificate is suggested)

  • Social Security card is helpful but NOT REQUIRED

  • Proof of address in parent’s name (Decatur Utility bill or entire rental agreement from a corporation). Visit the links below for more information about the proof of address requirements.

  • Alabama Immunization Certificate or a Certificate of Exemption

  • Any custody documents, if applicable. Custody Papers are required if you are divorced or you are not the parent listed on the birth certificate.

  • Parent/Guardian photo ID

Step 2- Complete the online registration using the snapcode. The Snapcode is like a virtual key to your child’s online registration. The Snapcode is used by the parent/guardian to supply information concerning who may check your student out, emergency contacts, doctor contact information, and student medical information. The Enrollment Center will provide you a snapcode via email once you have completed Step 1 of the enrollment process.
