New Student Enrollment

Are you interested in enrolling your student in Decatur City Schools? Please read the information below and follow the appropriate links.

2023-2024 New Student Enrollment Information

Decatur City Schools is now enrolling new students for the 2023-2024 school year.  If your child will be entering school for the first time, recently moved into the Decatur City Schools district, transferring from another school district, private school, home or church school – please follow the instructions below to begin the registration process:

*Returning students from 2022-2023 need to complete their Online Registration to be enrolled for 2023-2024.  

NEW Student Enrollment

All new students will need to enroll at the Enrollment Office which is located at 212 4th Ave SE Decatur, AL 35601. Please call 256-580-4346 to schedule an appointment to complete enrollment.

Be sure to gather and/or have available the following documents:

  • Proof of Name and Age (Ex. Birth Certificate)

  • Social Security Card (Recommended but NOT REQUIRED)

  • Proof of address (in parent/legal guardian’s name). You may follow this link for more information about the proof of address requirements.

  • Alabama Immunization Certificate or a Certification of Exemption

  • Parent/Guardian state issued photo ID

  • Any custody documents, if applicable. Custody Papers are required if you are divorced or you are not the parent listed on the birth certificate.

  • Withdrawal forms/Transcript/Previous School records (if available)

Returning Student Registration for 2023-2024

Decatur City Schools will utilize Online Registration (InfoSnap Enrollment) for returning students , those who were enrolled as of May 2023. InfoSnap Enrollment for returning student registration requires a Snapcode to access the record. 

Snapcodes were emailed starting June 2, 2023 to the addresses we have on file for custodial guardians. If you have questions about your student's Snapcode, you can email questions to registrationsupport@dcs.edu.
