It is a PROUD day at OPES! We want to congratulate two students - Mercedes Gibson (5th grade) and Ana Manual Torres (4th grade) for exceeding ONE MILLION words in AR Books they have read.
The Million Word Challenge is a great way to help students set goals and work to achieve them. It can sound completely overwhelming, but reading and testing on just one book every day will get you there! These students have succeeded in their commitment to reading everyday, sometimes short books but often longer books, and we are so proud of them!
Thanks for the DCS Foundation, students who exceed a million words in AR are recognized with a special shirt at the end of the year.
