Decatur High School is proud to announce that Jane Hollis Poovey is the recipient of the Jostens Renaissance National Student of the Month Award for April 2018. The Jostens Renaissance National Student of the Month recognition is for a deserving student who has made an impact within their school or community through Jostens Renaissance.
Jostens Renaissance is a program that focuses on recognizing students and staff. The core of the program revolves around the five R’s: what you Respect, Reward, Recognize, and Reinforce = Results.
Jane was selected based on her exceptional dedication and commitment to the values of Decatur High School and Jostens Renaissance. As teacher Kiersten Jones stated in her nomination letter, “Jane Hollis Poovey stands out from the moment you meet her. She has the ability and self-motivation it takes to be a great leader. She has a special way of bringing all different types of students, groups and cliques together as one, and she specifically wants to cheer for the teams and groups within the school who usually don't get a cheering section.”
Jane will be showcased on the Jostens Renaissance website (https://www.jostensrenaissance.com/jane-som/) and receive several items of recognition.
