In November, we will begin Unit 4, Our Neighborhood at Work, in our Open Court Imagine It! reading series. There will be some new authors introduced as we review phonics and spelling rules. Daily decodable readers will come home. We will learn /y/, /v/, -le,long /a/,long /i/,/s/, /j/long /o/,and long /u/. This month we'll be reading stories about work and sharing what we want to be when we grow up with our classmates. We will be working on Number 7 in Calendar Math, and Combining situations in our AMSTI Math Investigations. That means adding and using lots of story problems. We'll also be working on measuring with inches. Our AMSTI Science unit is Balance and Motion. We will observe and keep records of how items balance. ***Parents---we need people who are willing to share their occupation with the class. Also, there will be a "paper doll" coming home. We need you to help us decorate it so it looks like us all grown up!
