IB Moment: Visiting IB Schools
During our authorization visits, both schools received feedback that we needed to be a part of the larger IB PYP community. We had never visited another IB school and actually seen it in action. We took seven teachers to Atlanta last Thursday and Friday to visit three different IB schools in the Atlanta/Buckhead area. We gained insight and saw some things that we really liked. The best news of all, we came away with a feeling of accomplishment and knowing we are where we need to be in implementing the PYP! One of the schools we visited was the Atlanta International School. This private school has a tuition of around $15,000 a year for a first grader! They implement the PYP and many of our planners lined up with theirs! We also visited two public schools in Buckhead. Many of our planners lined up with them as well. We are excited about the progress we are making implementing the PYP. This trip showed us how great and respected the PYP truly is.
Have a great week!
