Julian Harris Elementary School Media Center serves approximately five hundred students. These students attend grades K-5. At present, each student comes to the Media Center once a week for library skill instruction and check out. Research and small group center time is also available for teachers to schedule as desired. Additional check out time is also available daily. The media specialist enlists the help of classroom teachers to promote the needed link between the media center and the classroom.

 Students participate in the Accelerated Reader and the S.T.A.R. reading programs. These programs work together to help diagnose each student's reading range and motivate him/her to broaden this range. Through the use of these and other reading activities, Julian Harris Elementary School continues to make reading a top priority.
