We are glad to be back to a normal routine!
We just heard from Dr. Houston that Decatur City just received approval of the request to Dr. Morton to forgive the three days that were lost due to the tornadoes. We will not have to make up the missed days. We will continue with the calendar that was revised after the winter snow. The last day for students will be the Tuesday after Memorial Day, May 31.
The first grade field trip is Wednesday, May 11, from 8:30 to 4:00. First grade parents need to make sure that their student gets picked up at school at 4:00. The students will not return in time to ride the bus home from Ben Davis.
This week is teacher appreciation week. PTA is setting it up for the teachers to have lunch once during the week without their class! First grade and kindergarten teachers are going to lunch on Thursday and second grade teachers are going to lunch on Wednesday. The ‘special’ teachers are going to eat on one of those two days. PTA homeroom moms are working on getting a parent from the room to cover the class for the teachers. Lunch will be provided for the teachers by Ben Davis on Friday.
The Daikin Dancers will be here to present on Thursday. They will be with Kindergarten and first grade from 9:00 to 9:20 and with second grade from 9:30 to 9:50.
