Ben Davis BOOK SWAP SHOP

WHAT IS A BOOK SWAP?

An opportunity to trade in books from home you have already read for some different titles!

On March 2, 3, 4 (Tues, Wed, and Thurs), you are invited to bring paperback books in good condition to Mrs. Cagle's room in the mornings.  Books must be appropriate for Kindergarten through 2nd grade students.  You may bring up to 5 books to trade.  For each book accepted you will receive a “Book Buck.”  Then on Friday, March 5, you will be allowed to redeem your Book Bucks for some “new” books.

A FEW BOOK SWAP RULES:

*Hardcover books will be accepted, but you might not find a hardcover to swap.

*Please bring books that are appropriate for Ben Davis students.  In the past, chapter books have been in high demand! In order to swap for a chapter book, you must bring a chapter book. Picture books, of course, will be accepted too. No magazines, coloring books, etc...

*The maximum books each student may swap is 5; however, we will accept additional books for donation to the Book Swap or you could share them with a friend who might not bring books to swap.

Leon Sheffield Live Chess Match is March 12 at 1:00.

Leon Sheffield spring and group pictures are March 16.

The Alabama Reading and Math Test at Leon Sheffield will be March 23 and 24.  The Stanford Achievement Test 10 will be March 29, 30, and 31.  Testing will begin each day at 8:15 and will end after 10:00.

Remember to bring in your empty ink jet and laser cartridges and old cell phones for recycling. Please send only cell phones and cell phone batteries, NO chargers or accessories. This year we’ve already made over $800 for our schools.

*Juice pouches are making great contributions to our school. Each pouch is worth 2 cents.  These are great for snack and lunch at school and we have collection cans in the building. All drink pouches are accepted.  Please remember to remove the straws from the pouches before recycling.  If pouches could be emptied and/or flattened, that makes it easier as we don't want to attract ants.

Thanks for sharing your children with us!
David and Rachel
