November News: A few reminders about school illness policies and guidelines!!!! FEVER: If your child has a fever of 100.0F or higher, they should not come to school. If they come to school with a fever of 100.0F or higher, they will be sent home. Your child MUST be fever free for at least 24 hours (without the use of fever reducing medications, such as Tylenol or Motrin) before returning to school.VOMITING: It is recommended that a student has not vomited for 24 hours, can eat solid foods (for at least 2 meals), and does not have abdominal pain or fever prior to returning to school. Any child who vomits more than once, while at school, will be sent home per school policy. Remember, vomiting can lead to dehydration very quickly, especially in younger children. If your child has been vomiting for more than 12-24 hours, they should see their health care provider as soon as possible. Also please do not send any medications (pills, inhalers, cough drops or liquids) to school with your child in Ziploc bags, etc. All medications require a medical authorization form to be filled out by physician and parent prior to any medications coming to school. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at Julian Harris 551-3096. Your child ’s health and safety always comes first.
